Jeopardy! is a well-known international television quiz game show, originally devised by Merv Griffin, who also created Wheel of Fortune. The show originated in the United States, where it first ran on NBC from March 30, 1964 until 1975 and again from 1978 to 1979. Its most successful incarnation is the current Alex Trebek-hosted syndicated version, which has aired continuously since September 10, 1984. Jeopardy! began its 23rd season in syndication on September 11, 2006 with its first broadcast in HDTV.
